The Section Momentum Award, started in 2020, is meant to recognize a Section that has experienced the greatest momentum/most improvement in the past year in the following areas: Meetings, Student/Younger Member Support; Application of Technical Knowledge; Networking Events; K-12 STEM Outreach; New Member Recruitment; Diversity and Inclusion; training/Professional Development; Field Trips/ Technical Tours; Service Projects; Funding Support; LeadershipITE involvement; and Advocacy. The District winner will be forwarded to ITE International for the International level Section Momentum Award.
2022 Section Momentum Award – Illinois
The Illinois Section Momentum submission highlighted the improvements that the section leadership implemented in 2021 that resulted in positive exposure and change for the Section and its members. In 2021, the Illinois Section (ILITE) continued to face many hurdles as a result of the COVID19 pandemic. However, the Section persevered to continue ongoing efforts towards 1) increasing public agency engagement through the Public Agency Partnership Program, 2) engaging in LeadershipITE to promote leadership and connections within the ITE community, 3) launching the inaugural Mentorship Match Program, 4) continuing to provide excellent technical content through a virtual platform, and 5) providing networking opportunities through their Section activities.
